
Lance began his career with Life Investors Insurance Company of America immediately after graduating from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 1991. In January of 1992 he returned to North Platte, NE to work with his father Randy at Carlson & Associates, Inc. Throughout his career, Lance has focused on building relationships with his customers and servicing their insurance and investment needs. In January 2014 Carlson purchased and merged the Randy Carlson & Associates and Barry Carlson & Associates agencies, forming Carlson Financial Group, Inc. Carlson Financial Group is a member firm of Collective Financial Group.
Carlson is a 28 year member of NAIFA, the professional association of the industry, and has been very involved at both the local and state level serving as the local president twice. He is also a member of GAMA and is a Court of the Table member of MDRT. Lance has continued his education earning his LUTCF designation and has taken advanced classes from the American College. Carlson has won multiple industry and company awards including membership in the the Million Dollar Round Table. He has also been very active in his community serving in a variety of roles including board member and Past President of NEBRASKAland DAYS, board member of NEBRASKALAND DAYS Foundation, past president of the North Platte Public Schools Foundation, board member of the Development Corporation of North Platte, board member of the North Platte Chamber Ambassadors, board member and Campaign Chair of the Mid Plains United Way and Leadership Lincoln County. In 2007 Carlson received the Fortunaire Foundation Community Service Award.
Lance is also a Registered Representative with Royal Alliance Associates, Inc.
In his free time, Lance can usually be found coaching or following his boys' activities. His wife Vikki is a school administrator within North Platte Public Schools. Lance is an avid follower of Nebraska football and the Kansas City Royals. He enjoys golf, music, and taking adventures with his family.
Qualifying membership in the MDRT is based on minimum sales production requirements and gross business generated within a year. Each MDRT status designation is granted for one year only. All members must apply every year to continue their affiliation with the Million Dollar Round Table.
