Randy was born and raised in Central City, NE and graduated from Wayne State College with a BAE in education. He began his professional life as a teacher and coach prior to entering the insurance and investment business, which he has been a part of for 40 years.

Carlson started Carlson and Associates in the 1970’s, which later became known as Carlson Financial Group. The organization grew and eventually was working with approximately 100 licensed agents in Nebraska and surrounding states.

Carlson spent the majority of his career recruiting, training, and managing agents. His main focus now is working with existing policyowners and new customers. He works with individuals, families, and businesses in helping them achieve their goals through the use of insurance and investment products. He is a registered representative with Royal Alliance Associates, Inc.

Randy has been very involved in NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors), a top professional organization in the industry. He has held many different leadership positions over the years in the insurance industry, with his related companies, as well as various leadership roles in his community.

The Carlson marketing organization has won many awards over the years. Nationally the agency was consistently in the Top 10 largest in the country with it's primary company. In Nebraska, it was one of the largest agencies in the industry.

Randy’s interests include golf, following University of Nebraska athletics and spending time with his two grandsons. He and his wife Lorraine have lived in North Platte since 1974 and have been married for 49 years. They have two sons.
